I came across your web site in a search for Deaf Websites, I am seeking out an interpreter and a Deaf individual, that is not affiliated with the school so that I may "Interview" them for a paper that I am writing for my "Intro to Interpreting Class"
I have 4 Questions that I have to ask and it is to remain completely confidential, so no names will be mentioned. If it's possible, please let me know if I am looking in the right place?
The Questions for the Deaf Individual are as Follows:
1. How do they feel about interpreters?
2.Do they feel that interpreters should be certified, why? or why not?
3.Who do they feel should be in control when an interpreter is involved?
4.What would they recommend to me as a new comer in the field of interpreting?
The questions for the interpreter are as follows:
1. What do they find as the PROS and the CONS in interpreting?
2. How long have you been interpreting?
3. How do you feel about certification?
4. What would you recommend to me as a new comer to the field of interpreting?
