MY EARLIEST MEMORY AS A TODDLER IS…..:
When I attended Open Door Preschool for Handicapped Children, I was eating lunch one day, and across from me was a little boy who’s blind. One of the aides was teaching him where to find his food on a plate by treating the plate as a “clock”. She told him that one food item is at 12 o’clock, another’s at 6 o’clock, another one’s at 3 o’clock, and the the last one at 9 o’clock. For some reason, that memory has stuck with me all these years.
NAME FOUR THINGS YOU WOULD BRING IF YOU ARE ON AN ISLAND FOR TWO MONTHS (FOOD AND DRINKS ARE ALREADY PROVIDED)?
I would bring a good book, a bag of things I needed (toothbrush, etc.), a cell phone, and my medicine.
IF YOU HAVE AN INTERVIEW WITH SOMEONE FAMOUS OR INFAMOUS, WHO WOULD YOU CHOOSE AND WHY?:
I would interview Helen Keller….I would ask her how she accomplished to learn those big words, and write in complete sentences in her autobiography if she has been deaf-blind since an infant ( I know that John Macy, Anne Sullivan’s ex husband, had helped publish the book, but this was supposed to be done by Keller). I would also ask what it is like working with Anne Sullivan.
