Question Earn$$ with wife's ssdi

This morning, I chatted to a VP with a friend.. She is worried about her ssdi because her husband have sold tons of camping stuff and his commissions will earn about 100,000. Before this December so she suppose she must tell her SSDI Office and she is very worrying about that SSDI will cut her check because her husband come lots of money? I told her impossible and they won't cut her ssdi check? :confused: so what you think?

:squint: Sorry but if her husband is going to make 100,000 from commissions, why is she worried about losing her SSDI check? It bothers me to know that there are people out there who do this and make us pay for their lifestyles.

Why cant she just live on her husband s salary?? It is unfair for rest of us, taxpayers, to see such folks doing things like this. :pissed:

I have no sympathy for this person - I know that people will :rl:me for my opinion but Im just fed up with seeing folks on SSI or SSDI getting away with murder so to speak.
 
He usually earns 12 to 20K thousand per year but this month another company drop off hot camping stuff and requesting them to selling but lucky he sold it but after sold it he won't earn it again!! Its one time!

They are to do struggle pay support live.

That's why they must a payoff their owe bills, behind two mortgage payments and other so they don't put it increasing $$ in pocket anyway so a reason she afraid that when cut her ssdi check and her husband will earn less 20 K again next year so they wont able to support themselves.

Hmm....the way you explained the situation, the wife definitely has legitimate concerns. But I don't know much about SSDI or SSI so I can't help there.

HOWEVER, I want to point out that the husband probably would have to pay a lot of tax on that $100,000. I don't know how much that would be -- I'm no accountant. But, I'd strongly recommend that the husband put aside about 20% (about $20,000) for Uncle Sam just in case. Otherwise, they would be in worse trouble than the SSDI situation.
 
She said that another friend assumed them that if he take under 100K then he has to reportedly return 40 to 50 thousand dollars or more for Tax/IRS then he will bring home less under 50K but he will contact to HR block tax about that too. so see what happen in December!??

Hmm....$50k is probably a tad high, but yeah, he definitely needs to talk to a tax accountant and put aside some money to pay for the tax.

I second with you 101% They took all out of my taxes... I work very hard, they get anything they want ! *sigh*

Sigh, Look at Bush who is very rich. How he make money? He make money from us. In Goverment people and police and fireman or firewoman earn money from us that we pay tax!

We work so hard to make them rich!

Oh please dont against people who earn SSI or SSDI but Look at Bush , Goverent people, police , etc. Teachers earn money from tax also.
 
I know before my mom was on SSD and my father used to work for newspaper company earning lot of money per month, it doesn't affect hubby/wife.. It only affect one person

I am a teacher and I have to do actual work to get paid rather than those who do nothing to get paid. That's what Kalista is upset about.
 
I don't think she will be affected at all. Because it is HER SSDI (on her SS #) money not his. I can be wrong though. But however he may have to file taxes with her SSDI but I don't think she'll get cut off. Maybe other ADers may have that experience and may share that.

What do you mean by this? We are not referring to that - we are referring to people who wont work on purpose so they can collect money. What is wrong with getting a job and working 8 hours a day like a regular Joe? I could quit my job anytime and sit on my ass, collecting monies but no way - I have too much pride to be living in that style. If I had a husband making 100,000, I would feel too damn guilty and will not collect monies as it is unfair to these hard working taxpayers.
