BERNAMA - Proposal For SMS Subsidy For The Deaf
The government has been urged to give SMS subsidy to the 50,000 deaf registered with the Welfare Department.
"The subsidy will not be a burden as the SMS charge is not high," Datuk Shahrir Abdul Samad (BN-Johor Bharu) said when debating the motion thanking Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin for his parliament opening address.
He said the subsidy was important to the deaf as SMS was an important communication tool for them.
