Interesting link. I'll have to check with my doctor about some of those suggestions.

I take calcium + D supplements twice daily, and Fosamax 35mg weekly. I get a bone scan once per year. So far, I don't have osteoporosis. I haven't lost any height or broken any bones.

Hubby also takes twice daily calcium + D, and weekly Fosamax 70mg. He gets an annual bone scan and blood tests. He has osteoporosis, and has lost more than an inch of height. He has broken both arms, a rib, and his sternum (those happened during accidents). The doctors said that it's a good thing Hubby is very physically active because that prevents worse bone loss. They don't really understand why he has so much bone loss because he is very healthy. :dunno:

Update:

I had my annual physical last week, and they did blood tests. Now, the doctor tells me I have too much calcium in blood. She said I must stop taking the calcium supplements right away.

I need to talk with my doctor soon. I sure don't want osteoporosis!

Do you drink any cheeses, milk dairy, joghurt, meat, etc where it relate calcium a lot? If yes, then not take calcium supplements when you eat plenty of calcuim foods... It could risk your health if you take too much calcuim...
