Hello! :wave: My name is Kat and I have severe to profound hearing loss. I started to "lose my hearing" when I was four months old. However, I cannot say I "miss it" because I've grown up not knowing it. My entire family is deaf/HOH household except for my sister who is a hearie.

I don't speak well and I prefer not to speak. Both of my parents are deaf, my older brother is deaf, my older sister is a hearie (our oddball :roll:), and my younger brother is HOH.

We use ASL - no oral. Even my parents make my sister use ASL.

Anyways, I hope to get know people here and connect with hearies and deafies outside of my family. :D

It is great to know there are other families with deaf gene as well on this forum!
