COMING HOME FOR CHRISTMAS LYRICS
Featuring Richie McDonald

When I think of snow, I think of Christmas.
When I think of you, I think of home.
I know all these miles that come between us for a while will melt away.

If I could make this plane go any faster,
I’d be standing right outside your door.
I can close my eyes and see that sweet look of surprise there on your face.
It’s worth the wait

Hang the mistletoe by the fire’s glow, put the angel on the tree.
Light a candle in the window, just for me.
I’ll bring you all my heart and soul, my love, my hugs and kisses.
I’m coming home, I’m coming home for Christmas.

Everywhere I go, it makes me miss you, cause everywhere I look, it’s red and green.
Everybody celebrating only makes the waiting slow down the day.
I’m on my way.

Hang the mistletoe by the fire’s glow, put the angel on the tree.
Light a candle in the window, just for me.
I’ll bring you all my heart and soul, my love, my hugs and kisses.
I’m coming home, I’m coming home for Christmas.

Wanna hear all about all the things you’re doing and make up for lost time.
Tell you what I’ve been through, laugh like we always do.
God, I’ve been missing you.

Hang the mistletoe by the fire’s glow, put the angel on the tree.
Light a candle in the window, just for me.
I’ll bring you all my heart and soul, my love, my hugs and kisses.
I’m coming home. You won’t be alone.
I’m coming home for Christmas.

Silent Night, Stille Nacht. I prefer the German version. Enya's is fantastic!! That's how I learned it as a child and still sing it that way. Since I can no longer hear, I don't sing anymore as I don't want to be off-key.

Imagine doing this in ASL! I was dragged into doing this song in ASL and ever since then--I've always done it.

My favorite Christmas song is this:

On the first day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
A partridge in a pear tree.

On the second day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.

On the third day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.

On the fourth day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.

On the fifth day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.

On the sixth day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.

On the seventh day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.

On the eighth day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.

On the ninth day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Nine ladies dancing,
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.

On the tenth day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Ten lords a-leaping,
Nine ladies dancing,
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.

On the eleventh day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Eleven pipers piping,
Ten lords a-leaping,
Nine ladies dancing,
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.

On the twelfth day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Twelve drummers drumming,
Eleven pipers piping,
Ten lords a-leaping,
Nine ladies dancing,
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree!

Anyway I collect anything related to this song for Christmas! :)

.... LOOOOOOOOOOOONG quote :hmm:

Well, this reminds me of a song I have on one of my CDs, and my really really nice sister wrote the lyrics for me. It is from My Little Pony's Christmas album, Minty Christmas:

On the first day of Christmas, I sent my friend, Minty
A candy cane to top her purple tree.

On the second day of Christmas, I sent my friend, Minty
Two angels sweet
And a candy cane to top her purple tree.

On the third day of Christmas, I sent my friend, Minty
Three pink bows,
Two angels sweet,
And a candy cane to top her purple tree.

On the fourth day of Christmas, I sent my friend, Minty
Four snowy flakes,
Three Pink bows,
Two angels sweet,
And a candy cane to top her purple tree.

On the fifth day of Christmas, I sent my friend, Minty
Five golden stars,
Four snowy flakes,
Three pink bows,
Two angels sweet,
And a candy cane to top her purple tree.

On the sixth day of Christmas, I sent my friend, Minty
Six banners hanging,
Five golden stars,
Four snowy flakes,
Three pink bows,
Two angels sweet,
And a candy cane to top her purple tree.

On the seventh day of Christmas, I sent my friend, Minty
Seven hearts a-shimmering,
Six banners hanging,
Five golden stars,
Four snowy flakes,
Three pink bows,
Two angels sweet,
And a candy cane to top her purple tree.

On the eighth day of Christmas, I sent my friend, Minty
Eight stars a-twinkling,
Seven hearts a-shimmering,
Six banners hanging,
Five golden stars,
Four snowy flakes,
Three pink bows,
Two angels sweet,
And a candy cane to top her purple tree.

On the ninth day of Christmas, I sent my friend, Minty
Nine bells a-ringing,
Eight stars a-twinkling,
Seven hearts a-shimmering,
Six banners hanging,
Five golden stars,
Four snowy flakes,
Three pink bows,
Two angels sweet,
And a candy cane to top her purple tree.

On the tenth day of Christmas, I sent my friend, Minty
Ten mantle stockings,
Nine bells a-ringing,
Eight stars a-twinkling,
Seven hearts a-shimmering,
Six banners hanging,
Five golden stars,
Four snowy flakes,
Three pink bows,
Two angels sweet,
And a candy cane to top her purple tree.

On the eleventh day of Christmas, I sent my friend, Minty
Eleven blue balls shining,
Ten mantle stockings,
Nine bells a-ringing,
Eight stars a-twinkling,
Seven hearts a-shimmering,
Six banners hanging,
Five golden stars,
Four snowy flakes,
Three pink bows,
Two angels sweet,
And a candy cane to top her purple tree.

On the twelfth day of Christmas, I sent my friend, Minty
Twelve lights a-blinking,
Eleven blue balls shining,
Ten mantle stockings,
Nine bells a-ringing,
Eight stars a-twinkling,
Seven hearts a-shimmering,
Six banners hanging,
Five golden stars,
Four snowy flakes,
Three pink bows,
Two angels sweet,
And a candy cane to top her purple tree.
And a candy cane to top her purple tree.

Now for my own personal favourite Christmas song.

That's hard because I love Christmas music more than any other. But I think I've decided one. I looked up the lyrics online, but the music itself is my first love. It is called, "Somewhere in my Memory" from the movie soundtrack CD, "Home Alone Christmas" by John Williams. I listen to Christmas music a lot in the summer just in case it's the last time I'll ever hear it. I often can't hear music in the winter, but can in the summer. I don't know why. I never bothered to ask.

Candles in the window,
Shadows painting the ceiling,
Gazing at the fire glow,
Feeling that gingerbread feeling.

Precious moments,
Special people,
Happy faces
I can see.

Somewhere in my memory,
Christmas joys all around me.
Living in my memory,
All of the music,
All of the magic,
All of the family
Home here with me.

Somewhere in my memory,
All of the music,
All of the magic,
All of the family
Home here with me.
