Possible new hearing aid?

Currently I wear bilateral hearing aids for auditory processing disorder that I have severely. I have a 2000-2500hz loss in my left ear. I am not an audiologist or know much about audiology but my audiologist was trying to explain to me what this meant. She said that I have no response in these frequencies from my cochlea. She said that I would need a hearing aid soon. I was confused.. Is this a hearing loss? Will I really need a hearing aid?

maybe you'll get a hearing aid soon!!! (I'm looking at the Naidas and whatnot at the moment LOL)
