Portland police to host forum for deaf community | The Forecaster
The Police Department will host a forum Thursday, Feb. 24, to discuss safety concerns in the city's deaf community.
Deaf residents, their family members, employers and neighbors are encouraged to attend and share concerns with officers.
"This forum will help facilitate a better understanding of their unique issues and through this open communication, I am confident we will build a stronger relationship," Chief James Craig said.
The forum begins at 6 p.m. at the Deering Masonic Lodge, 102 Bishop St. For more information, contact jrob@portlandmaine.gov or call 874-8927.
