Portland metro people....

I will be in Vancouver, WA on the second week of March, too. I believe Vancouver is about less than an hr away from Portland? Am I wrong?

30 minutes or less, depend on terrible horrible traffic. :)

Yupp PowerOn is right, about 30 min to downtown Portland, or only like 10 min if good traffic. But when you across the bridge (green bridge) from Vancouver, Washington to Portland, then it's only a mile across the river, you are on the Portland's borderline from Vancouver.

Have fun then! :)

Btw I live in Vancouver USA :P

Yep I asked you in this thread. Great that means I wont have to be stuck in Vancouver. My friend recommended me to go to Portland City because there are no taxes on clothes or other stuffs.

Done answer your questions there! :) Thank for remind me ;)

And of course you won't be stuck in Vancouver, and the green bridge is not the only way to get to Portland, there's also another bridge at east Vancouver, which are on I-205 heading to the Portland Airport. Their traffic are usually better than the I-5, but I-5 have better access to the downtown Portland.

And about the taxes, yupp, Portland don't have sale tax, and that's famous reason why people live in Vancouver, Washington so they can take advantage of Oregon's lack of sale tax, and take advantage of Washington's low taxes on the properties. About 100,000 average cars across both of those bridges daily. It's kinda odd because I live in Vancouver and doesn't go to Portland that often, only go there for friends that's all. I shop mostly in Vancouver, it's just that the taxes doesn't hurt me at all.

If you want something really fun, I recommend Portland mostly. Vancouver is just a Portland's suburbs, there is not much stuff to see in Vancouver except for the Fort Vancouver Historic Reserve. If you want be around Vancouver, I recommend to go Esther Short Park in downtown Vancouver, it's nice there, also of course Fort Vancouver. That's all I can think of something you have to see in Vancouver, but Portland have much much more activities than Vancouver, and I recommend you be in Portland more, you will have more fun there.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask :)

Starbucks Gathering in Beverton with Deaf people is Awesome, I used to do that all the time with my friends, we would drive to Beaverton and meet up with other deaf people that we know through camps/school/other friends and just chat, get updates from each other. That was so much fun... i miss doing that...haven't done it since I moved to Alaska and then moved back, only to Seattle. But you should go, it was awesome and I'm sure you'll enjoy it. :)

It look like there is no deaf social at starbucks in Beaverton.

I make decide to host one-time deaf social at closer to Portland downtown (no pay park)

I saw the smallest park in the world at downtown Portland. It's called Mill Ends Park, it's cute park.
