Weapon Was Iron Cornbread Pan, Police Say

SONORA, Calif. -- A 70-year-old yard sale shopper is facing charges after police said things got a bit out of hand at a yard sale.

Tuolumne County authorities said Jon Joslin was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after he hit another man over the head with a cornbread pan at the sale Friday.

A sheriff's spokesman said Joslin hit the fellow shopper with a 5-pound cast iron pan to prevent him from getting to the sale first.

It seems the two men arrived early at the yard sale and were walking up a long driveway when investigators said Joslin first attempted to trip 64-year-old Joseph Brown.

Brown suffered a head laceration but refused medical treatment.

It was not known if Joslin had retained an attorney.

I wonder if the sale price of that pan quadrupled after.....

Kinda' funny when I read it...I've seen people arguing and cussing over stuff at yard sales but not something like this!....Had a friend that used to ride with me on Sat. mornings (early) going "garage sailing"....she would never drive, I always had to...and when she spotted something, she would jump out of the car before I put it into Park....trying to beat me there!

Like Estate Sales better! I do love to barter, tho'...and never pay the asking price....
