Right, it is not legal justification; the behavior did not arise to the level of shooting someone. Not by a long shot, pun intended. :lol:

maybe that teenage use the sign's wood as weapon as he believe, after took pot, that Rowles is a vampire. That's why Rowles thought that bastard teenage gonna stab his breast. OMG! Watch out!!!
 
Just a few months ago some guy shot and killed some guy for his cheeseburger he was eating on the steps of his home. And on the news I saw a blurb about a restaurant customer running after and shooting a would-be with his gun. He had a license to carry one so the police say he will not be charged. What a world, what a world.

Yeah, Banjo, that happened only a couple miles from where I live. I wish I can find a link to the customer shooting the robber, but that happened today. Last week some guy fired some shots and a bullet entered a house and killed a seven-year-old doing his homework. A few days before that, an infant was killed in his mother's arms in a drive-by shooting. Ad nauseum. I won't bother providing links for those, since that sort of thing is commonplace around here in St. Louis.
I KNOW that the main problem is lack of role models. I mean, why not use fists instead of guns? I am sure you recall the stories of young elephants killing rhinocerouses in Africa, where the experts were puzzled as to the solution, which turned out to be bringing in an older male elephant to be a role model for the younger ones. The killings stopped.
Same thing applies here with humans. I wish I had an answer more than this, but I do not. *shrugs*

I re-read the story.

A teenager was wounded in the arm by a man who said he wanted to stop the boy and another from taking his John McCain yard sign, according to police.

Warren Township police Lt. Don Bishop said 50-year-old Kenneth Rowles told officers he got out a .22-caliber rifle Saturday afternoon to fire warning shots, not hurt anyone. The two shots hit the van the teens were in.

I think this is the case of cranky-ass old man. Looks like he shot at them to stop them and this incident did not occur on his property. Shooting at van is NOT a good idea for warning shot. I strongly do not condone this kind of action. :mad2:

Or how about not putting up a sign at all? Even if I did have a yard, I wouldn't put a sign up with all this crazy shit going on.
