Police: Missing man is deaf, has Down syndrome

Nassau police are trying to find a missing man they said has Down syndrome, is deaf and unable to speak.

The 22-year-old man, Mohammad Saleem, whose arms are tattooed with his former address and telephone number, went missing Thursday night just after 9:30 p.m., police said in a news release.

He's 5-foot-4 and 145 pounds with a dark complexion. He was last seen wearing a brown and green...

Missing Franklin Square man found in Queens

A deaf and mute man who suffers from Down syndrome was found "in good physical condition" Friday, almost 11 hours after he was reported missing near his home in Franklin Square, police said.

Mohammad Saleem, 22, was discovered Friday at 8:30 a.m. in Queens, Nassau County police said. He had been the subject of a Silver Alert issued at 9:35 p.m. Thursday, more than five hours after he was last seen.
