Polanski free, Swiss reject US extradition request

Of course, the Swiss decision covers their country only, just as the French decision covered France only. Depending on whether or not Polanski ever sets foot into a country that is more friendly to the USA, he could still be extradited from another country. The warrant is not rescinded worldwide.

From reading that part, I don't think the Swiss did anything wrong in this case. If they were denied access to the confidential files they requested, they may not be able to make a ruling.

*shrugs*

Regardless, what Polanski did was wrong. However, the Swiss government cannot do much if they don't receive the information they require in order to make a decision that may be in the USA's favour.

Oh, really? That's rather presumptive. Humph!

same here. I haven't really looked much into this or know very much about this. I don't care to. Pedo subject makes me feel uneasy.

Simply said - If he has never paid for his crime, then he must do it... even if it was 30+ years ago. I don't care if the statute of limitation expired. He should man up and be responsible for his action. If he's truly sorry, then he should return back to US on his accord.

Actually the Statute of Limitations only applies to prosecution. Since he already entered a guilty plea I don't think any S.O.L. would apply. I think he is S.O.L. if we ever get him here though.....lol

Hee. :giggle:

No matter where he goes, he has a "black cloud" over his head and a "bullseye" on his back.
