ROUTER, some router don't have built in firewalls, some do have firewall built in. Router real purpose have nothing to do with firewall feature, they were just added feature to the Router. And the real purpose of Router is to route the data to specific end from one end. It is router's job to figure out what to do with each packet of data. Yes, router got their own "brain" The true purpose of Router is to share multiple devices with one IP address from public end. And that the firewall intention was to make inside device invisible to outside. Very simple rule in Internet world is that NO two computers or devices can share same IP address. That is why Router was created to set up "LOCAL AREA NETWORK" meaning inside your home or office or whatever. Router assigns each inside computers with their own "NAT Address" Most common is 192.168.XXX.XXX and other approved NAT addresses. If you got problems with videophone connections, the chances are incorrect set up router!
Yes what your doing is one way to run networking. Problem with VP is that it requires clear path of data traffic, meaning no firewall in the way. Never NEVER I mean NEVER let your networking with all ports exposed at 100%, If you do, hackers loves to break in your system. But because VP don't have any valuable information store in there and its nothing for hacker to gain with. So why need firewall for VP?GalaxyAngel said:Can I say... ?
for DHB...
Yea, Right but depends on Router Brand vary..
I do have firewall come w/Router itself.. I switch for PC w/firewall ... IP direct to VP..without firewall.. That what I'm using pretty seems good..
Few days ago, I got nuked someone who tries destory my PC.. but within hold nuke inside the router... not my pc or vp.. Made me puzzled why not working browsing and etc etc.. so I tested w/Router unplug then came it back normal everything IP changed automatic..
Why is that?
