Thursday Feb 4th early in the morning, an 18 year old young woman was on her way to the College to go to an advisors session. 4 miles from the Intersection of HWY 4 and 18, she lost control of her vehicle, crossed the center line was given a 'Pit Manuever' by a Semi was spun and launched off the road at 70 mph and into a pole. Killed on Impact. A good person, who graduated in '07 and was going to start Nursing at 18 years of age.
This could have been prevented if she had stayed home. The roads were ice.
5 Days later, on Tues Feb 9th, a Young Man was traveling along and lost control and was hit broadside by a Semi, killed on impact. Close to the SAME intersection as the other accident. And on the day of accident, it was snow and ice on the roads.
If he had stayed home he would still be here.
Your life is not something to risk in Bad Weather. The semi's should have pulled over, the two young people should have stayed home.
The young lady who was killed, her mother just lost her husband in November to Cancer and three months later her daughter to a horrible accident. Keep the mother in your thoughts and prayers as she is really going to need it.
Keep the family of the young man in your thoughts and prayers for their loss.
Now anyone who drives that stretch of road drives really slow and is very cautious. Even in Good weather.
