PlaneRed: All-you-can-fly subscription, skip TA, etc?!

Looks like the same concept as the China Bus.

However, there are many red flags:

1. there's no links, info page, examples of what a PlaneRed flight might look like, what restrictions there are, how many layovers there are before the final destination, etc.

2. looks like a referral pyramid

3. the link for LaunchRock has the same layout as PlaneRed and it hasn't even "launched"

I was able to find this page and I am shocked by this:

"PlaneRed is an all-you-can-eat flight subscription launching around September 1st 2011 that will fly just below the TSA’s radar – using 9-person planes to dodge under their screening of any plane carrying over 10 passengers."

Ever flown on a small plane? Turbelence is hell. Do you really want to risk your personal safety skipping the screening process just to save some money?

Even if you get a ticket to fly with PlaneRed, you still have to go through the security check points at the airport.

On that site, it says you have to pay monthly subscription fees. So, who knows if you will be flying often enough to reap the benefit of saving money and whether there will be enough seats to meet the demand while you are paying for the subscription.

i've been talking with some of my friends about the cost of a private jet. I don't like the idea of the TSA anymore.

I am with you on TSA. I lost respect for TSA after witnessing a TSA touching a passenger's body in public. I was relieved that I was not subjected to pat down procedure so far.

I am curious about the cost of a private jet. Keep us posted. Thanks.

lol he must be referring to time share for private jet. it's usually over $20,000 per year.... depends.

google "private jet timeshare cost"

ouch.... my $20k guess is so far below from average cost... :eek3:

:eek3: Bummer. Oh, well. I have to deal with TSA lines from now on unless I strike rich in LV.

or marry a rich bastard and divorce him :aw:

LOL I am not a marriage material because of my fear of getting married and getting hurt. Not worth. FYI I am not married so far.

Ive taken amtrak. and I advocate it for people if its on their way.

and also jiro's looking in wrong places. Private jets actually can be comparable to some of the fares out there.

that's why you divorce him and take his 50%!

I have not taken AMTRAK train myself yet.

Greyhound.. it is my first and last time.. never again.

I took a "short" trip to DC last month and may be taking a shorter trip to Baltimore next month. Of course, both of these trips could have been done on I-95...which is why I'm taking the train. :cool2:

I have a long-distrance trip scheduled for November, so I've joined an Amtrak fans forum (not affiliated with Amtrak) and have been reading the terrible time the western trains have been having due to the flooding, etc. So, even though you need to have the time for the "normal" travel time, you need to also have the leisure to deal w/delays. Of course, I'm hoping things will be better by November (and here I was worried about snow causing delays  ).

I'm also not worrying about the delays because this is a pleasure trip and it's the outgoing part (to my daughter's). I'm taking a plane back so I shouldn't have any problems getting home "on time".

Amtrak. LOVE it. you gotta try it. It's a luxury. lot of legroom space. lot of space to roam about. the only sucky thing is that at some routes - it stops so many times that it takes a long time to arrive at your destination.

Yeah, I don't see Acela being worth the price to me. Nor business class on the regionals. Especially since I don't drink. :giggle:
