The audie I got through Kaiser wants me to try the Phonak Nadia 5 SP. I'm wondering if I should try to upgrade this to the Nadia 9? Are the additional features worth the extra bucks?

No the OP wants to know if they should upgrade to the naida 9 instead to try instead of naida 5. My audi seems to think that the features on the naida 9 will really benefit me so I am getting the naida 9 instead of the 5. I can't wait to try the duophone :)

depends how much i guess, and what kind of phone you use. If all of your phones have bluetooth then you can just use iCom the same. Someone one the forums was saying that they had difficulty getting duophone to work. Personally, i'm waiting for alicia to get hers and let us all know how well it works. For me, it would be over $3000 extra, which I can't afford at the moment.
What type of hearing loss do you have? Mine is progressive, so i chose to go UP because i didn't mind the slightly larger size and wanted to have longer battery life. (my SPs were lasting less than a week)
*EQL*

I don't use the phone and my audiologist didn't think the 9 was worth the extra money for me since i'd never actually use the extra features. It just depends on if you will use the extra fancy things. I would not. I use my aids as FM receivers for the most part!

I am getting a pair of nadia 9 next week. I had the choice of getting the naid 3 and the nadia 9, I went for the 9 because it has 20 channels of sound, makes it easier to hear when there is echo involved and supposingly when talking on a cell phone you can hear the signal with both hearing aids instead of one.

I have wore the phonak claridon's (ite) with 20 channels of sound .. pretty awesome if you can get enough power to hear all the channels well...

the brain goes into trippy mode trying to figure out wth its hearing

I am wearing the nadia IX now, the main extra feature is the echoblock...these hearing aids are awesome and amazing how fast they adapt to what is happening right now...

I just had a 2nd adjustment today and now know how to operate the zoom program and had a music program added...the mute program comes in handy too :)
