If you have any elderly neighbors that lives alone you should check up on them and see if need any help with buying items for the storm or help getting ready for it. I just when shopping for my elderly neighbor that lives a lone.

Yep. During Hurricane Hugo, my elderly neighbors were in denial and thought that nothing would happen. (At the time, we still lived in another nearby community and hadn't yet met them.)

They bought nothing, and prepared nothing. Well, the hurricane left several HUGE trees criss-crossed over and in their roof. They had friends of their's drive down from DC with a generator, saws, and manpower, to help them.

Now that we live next door, we look after them. Anytime there is the threat of a storm, we take care of their preparations for them, and remind them to shop for supplies and stock up on their meds.

We had a huge snow storm one winter and my elderly neighbor was snowed in her house. All her doors where blocked with snow. I shoved out her front door and the poor woman was crying the whole time , she was so worried no one help her and that if she had a fire there was no way to get out.
