PCTTY -- A TTY Computer Program for the Deaf

Interesting website to read... hopefully someday there will be an software tty for linux users...

Interesting, but why would deaf want to use PCTTY since it's only for landline? I'm just wondering...

I do think that not many deaf people depend on landline because there are pagers out there for communication over the Internet.

It looks like any of those who are deaf, have landline, and use a computer, don't have to purchase NexTalk VM (like for around $300).

Yeah, true. I already have a TTY so I am not going to bother with PCTTY.

Nope I haven't tried this yet but I guess that
I should try it Someone else mentioned that
we need a "Wave" modem driver for this PCTTY.

However I never heard of this Wave thing before.

Oh, really ? I've never tried Nexttalk.com -- I will look it up. Thanks. :)

I once had PCTTY modem! That was before windows 95 started! I think I had it in 1992 then in 1996 I bought Nextalk NXI modem and still have it. Both TTY modem no longer in manufacturing. From my experience, Nextalk modem is best of all. Even though I said it is best of all. I don't use it since VP came in. I don't have plan to get rid of Nextalk TTY modem.

It is good for a person who cannot afford high tech communication device.
