And then there were three.

After weeks of speculation surrounding Paula Abdul's fate as a judge on "American Idol", it has now been made official — the former pop princess will not be returning to the hit FOX reality series.

"With sadness in my heart, I've decided not to return to ['American Idol']. I’ll miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all I'll miss being a part of a show that I helped from day1become an international phenomenon," Abdul wrote on her Twitter page Tuesday night. "What I want to say most, is how much I appreciate the undying support and enormous love that you have showered upon me. It truly has been breathtaking."

According to a source close to the "Opposites Attract" singer, she was offered a contract by FOX and it was her decision to turn it down.

"Paula is actually handling the situation really well, she is in great spirits," a close source told Pop Tarts. "She has so many offers and opportunities and has been in New York this week taking meetings."

Another source said that while the judges had shown the contestants great support through the years it was Abdul who was the one who stayed in closest contact, calling and constantly being there for the finalists as they branched out into the music world.

FOX, FremantleMedia North America and 19 Entertainment released a statement on Tuesday night expressing their sadness over Abdul's departure.

Yep....I thought the same thing....and on national TV !....Plus the "rumors" of her dating/affairs with the contestants.....(lot younger than her)....She's a beautiful woman, tho'....dunno about her singing....but last I heard, she wants to be on "Dancing with the Stars"....

I have never seen the show, but she is certainly famous for acting drugged.

:orly:

Aw, I'm not going to see Paula Abdul anymore on "American Idol", that's too bad. I'm not watching "American Idol" anymore.
I have listened to Paula Abdul Album when I was a teenager and have gone to Paula Abdul "MTV" club concert back then. Paula Abdul was also a former choregraphy for "Nasty" Video with Janet Jackson. I know :blah:

Well, Paula Abdul has her own issues going on in her life, yeah she can be annoying sometimes. Paris Hilton can be so much annoying trying to get her attention :eek3:
That's what happens to many celebrities like Britney Spears or David Hasselhoff from "American got talent". I was planning to become a famous one day but I didn't want to because I wouldn't have a normal life or I wouldn't have a private life. Paparazzi would follow me everywhere and take a pic of me and cuddle with my teddy bear in bed :P

No one is perfect, remember that. ;)

Why not Paula do a couple more videos like Rush Rush...or Cold hearted Snake and stuff like that?? It would be FUN to see a girl her age try to do that!!
