OK today I went to the minnesota state capital with Madd "youth in action" We talked to legislatures about the changing the secondary seat belt law to a universal primary seat belt law this means instead of an officer not being able to pull you over for not wearing your seat belt but can ticket you if you are breaking another law. A officer can pull you over for just not wearing a seat belt.

The other lay we talked about was the inflation of the Alcohol user fee up 5 cents so if you buy alchohol you will have to pay a 5 sent increase in taxes. One of the legislatures was every difficult and kinda almost mean. anyway when i got back i was joking with one of my friends she just punched me in the stomach it's been 3 hours and it still hurts terriabley. yea just sharing my dad was very busy and It was kool to go and talk to the legislatures oh yea also my ex's brother decided to lock me out of our school so he might get kicked out of auto club funny
 
Oh.... You should have come up to the snack shop on 2nd floor of the Capitol, becuase I have been working there since monday. Let me know when you are coming down here again, and I would love to meet you.
 
racheleggert we come up once a year doesn't your father work at the capital to? and Rachel I forgot are you hoh or deaf lol cause my sign is still getting better cause i'm relying on lip reading and speech since i'm just hard of hearing lol so yea maybe this summer i will tell my parents to just let me come and meet you Oh and i thought about you when i was there lol
 
I'm sorry, but I do have to voice my opinion regarding the seat belt laws. To me they are unconstitutional to force us to wear seatbelts. Personally I think it's common sense to have kid in car seat and seat belt in back seat of car, etc, and if not, then person does deserve a fine. However, as an adult, I should be able to have my own choice whether or not to wear seat belt. It is well known that seat belts will only help in a roll over or head on crash, and in other accidents it can actually cause more problems.
My father would most probably be dead today and I never born if he and/or passengers had been wearing seat belts when his car drove off an icy road (would have been decapitated if not thrown from his Austin Healey convertible). Also my grandfather would most likely have lived if he wasnt wearing his seat belt when his car was broadsided by a semi-trailer (he would have slid over on bench seat instead of almost being cut in half by the belt).
I will wear my seat belt in bad weather or on long trips because in those cases, a head on or such is more likely, but if I'm driving around town or something, I definately will not. I have yet to get a ticket for not wearing seat belt, but if I did, you can be damn sure I will fight it. It is my right to decide whether or not I will wear it, not the decision of some politician trying to get the vote of some demographic.
I can understand laws regarding kids being in belt and in back seat, etc, as I've seen some stupid people with their kid on their lap in front seat and instead of subjecting that kid to harm or even death before they've had a chance to live life, and that parent needs to learn (since they aparently lack common sense). But to force adults to wear seatbelts is just plain wrong. The only life they would be risking is their own, and we should be able to do so, based on our beliefs. I drove a taxi for a few years in this small town, and anyone who asked if they needed to wear belt in taxi or my personal car, I leave it up to them and state my opinion, and that is how it should be. IMHO
 
simple to voice my opinion i'm not going to listen to your opinion because if you heard the facts that we have pilled up now i already argued with representives don't want to argue here
