FREMONT, Calif. -- A pack of angry Chihuahuas attacked a police officer who was escorting a teenager home after a traffic stop, authorities said.

The officer suffered minor injuries, including bites to his ankle, Detective Bill Veteran said.

The five Chihuahuas escaped the 17-year-old boy's home and rushed the officer in the doorway Thursday, authorities said. The teenager had been detained after the traffic incident.

The officer was treated at a hospital and returned to work less than two hours later.

Yo Quiero Bandages.

what is Yo Qioero? I can undy bandages. Ouchie, yipping chihuahuas snapping at officer's ankles!! I love chihuahuas, but heard that they always yippings and snappings...forget it. I'm getting a 3 months old black dashound mix puppy this Thursday and I can hardly wait! I'll have picture taken of Cody puppy with me and my husband soon to post in AD. I grew up with dashound mix when living with my parents, so know it can be nice if trained and treated right. I guess the say can be the same for chihuahuas.

"Yo Quiero" is Spanish for "I want." It's a reference to Taco Bell's old Chihuahua marketing campaign, in which a talking Chihuahua's catch phrase was "Yo Quiero Taco Bell." Which is actually a redundant phrase because the simple word "Quiero" is conjugated to mean "I want."
