MOUNT CARMEL, Pa. (AP) — A 5-year-old Pennsylvania girl who told another girl she was going to shoot her with a pink toy gun that blows soapy bubbles has been suspended from kindergarten.

Her family has hired an attorney to fight the punishment, which initially was 10 days but was reduced to two.

Attorney Robin Ficker says Mount Carmel Area School District officials labeled the girl a "terrorist threat" for the bubble gun remark, made Jan. 10 as both girls waited for a school bus.

Ficker says the girl didn't even have the bubble gun with her and has never fired a real gun. He says she's "the least terroristic person in Pennsylvania."

School district solicitor Edward Greco tells pennlive.com (Attorney: Girl, 5, in trouble for chatting about shooting bubble gun | PennLive.com ) officials are looking into the case. He said Friday school officials aren't at liberty to discuss disciplinary actions.

This is yet another example of the politically correct liberal left over reaching....it's a sad day when children can't act like children anymore without it offending someone.....

They seem to be on a mission at ending fun for kids. They start by killing a million a year through abortion. The kids that survive can't even play, sing, talk, eat pizza or drink soda without being corrected.

It is really sad what they are doing to the kids.

that's why I posted #2 link for many examples.

example - in court, we can't say rape. we say "sexually assaulted" because it sounds unbiased and neutral.

Yup, I remember about Gallaudet, so I was told to not use "hearing impaired" because offended to deaf people.

State of Alabama use "Hearing Impaired" on driver license.

Yeah, that's right. Normally, I don't go for the PC stuff but I do have some sympathy for this term because: HI is and will always be a medical term, basically the first definition in the dictionary AND Deaf do not like it for cultural reasons. Simple as that, no biggie.

There are some kids that raised by extreme strict families, such as zero junk food, zero carbonated soda, limited playtime, lengthly study time, separate from socialize with other kids, etc.

Thanks to god - my parent wasn't one of them.

One piece of evidence he points to is a letter from a professional counselor, an appointment requested by the school, who talked to the suspended girl and her mother two days after the incident. In it, the therapist describes the child as an apparently "typical 5-year-old by temperament and interests" with no history of mood swings, irritability, depression, attention deficit disorder, learning issues or other problems.

Also, according to the counselor's letter, the girl had "no play guns or play knives," either in the bus line or at home, where her mother prohibited them.

"It would appear that (the girl) does not have those risk factors identified for violent behavior," the therapist wrote. "It would also seem that (she) had no harmful or predatory intent in the comments she made to her friends about the bubble 'gun' but did not recognize the heightened sensitivity and awareness of her friends and the response that may result from her comments."

On January 12, the suspended girl met with the counselor, both independently and with her mother The therapist wrote that he found no evidence or history of behavioral issues or poor parenting and determined "it appears (the kindergartner) engages in positive peer relationships."

Anyhow, great job of generalizing and pre-judgment. Those pesky Liberal Socialist murdering pigs! You posted a whole bunch of issues under the anti-Conservative umbrella, with only a few words. I would expect nothing less from you folks.

i think there is a place for the -IDEA-or spirit of "political correctness" - BUT i also think a lot of it has gone too far.
