
to AllDeaf forum. Roykirk, you just have to accept your child as being deaf on one ear and learn to live with it. I was born with both ears being deaf and never bother me until I became almost 9 years old when I first wore my first hearing aid on the left ear only. I was surprise to hear sounds, mostly environment sounds. That bother me a lot. I am just happy being deaf. Being deaf is what we all experience whether we were born deaf or late deafend (meaning became deaf later in the years after being hearing for a long time or short time).
