Deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their parents are invited to attend an open house at from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, April 2, in the Quiet Room of Rudisill Library to learn about the services offered by the college.
Students and parents will meet with administrators, faculty and staff who will explain the services and programs on campus. Local vocational rehabilitation counselors will meet with the parents, along with an L-R admissions/financial aid counselor, to discuss financial assistance that is available to the students. In addition, a panel of current deaf/hard-of-hearing students will talk about their experiences at Lenoir-Rhyne and answer questions.
March 29-April 2 is Deaf Awareness Week at Lenoir-Rhyne. Hearing and Deaf Signers Club (HANDS) will be hosting several events during the week. The purpose of HANDS is to promote social interaction between deaf/hard-of-hearing and hearing students and to encourage deaf awareness both on and off campus.
For more information, contact Trula Baker at (828) 328-7317 or email to baker_tl@lrc.edu. To register for the event, click here
