One fajita meal = 19 beef tacos from Taco Bell

The Dish: Fajita meal has same calories as 19 beef tacos - thestar.com

 I sometimes eat chicken fajita at Lone Star cuz they are the best fajita that I have ever eaten and loved.

So? It's fun food. It's only a problem if someone is eating that every day and not getting a balanced diet. Otherwise, who cares?

We KNOW fast food isn't healthy. It's not supposed to be. It's FAST food!

I get SO upset with articles and things telling us what's in what food; like we're morons and can't figure out how to eat.

It's actually quite simple. Extremes are bad; period. There also can be extremes in healthy eating as well; which is also bad. The best way to eat is is with variety and in moderation. Eating that fajita once a month or so isn't going to kill you. If you want that fajita, Royale, have it; just not every day!

It says in the article to eat it rarely, like for your birthday, and skip the free chips.

You'd think being a vegetarian would be healthy, but by the time I get done loading my veggie fajitas with cheese, sour cream, and guacamole, I might just as well eat the meat! :giggle:

The articles aren't doing anything, just take a look at the people today.

It doesn't help to be critical, though; nor does it help to keep preaching. Obesity isn't something you can easily fix as our government would like us to believe. It's very complicated. I also believe that the government is very hypocritical. They stick their nose into our business, but then, go on catering to special interest groups and such.

As I said, this is not something that we can easily fix.

But, I'm also coming at this from a rather skewed perspective. I'm eating disordered and have been most of my life. I've been in recovery for quite some time now, though (about 8 yrs, but 4 yrs sustained). I achieved my recovery through a lot of hard work and learned to accept my size for what it is. I'll concede I'm overweight, but, I also eat moderately now and with variety. I DO NOT believe in restriction. I also believe that we can get too caught up in what is in our food and become obsessive about it. That's not good. This is why I keep stressing moderation and variety in our diets.

As for the obesity issue, there are no easy answers to it. Once we accept that and the government concedes that point, we'll be better off.
