One Class At A Time: MT School for Deaf & Blind | KXLH.com | Helena, Montana

Fourth grade students at the Montana School for the Deaf and Blind in Great Falls are making great advancements in their reading skills.

And now thanks to a little extra funding, they'll continue to develop their love for all types of books.

First Interstate Bank's Jessica Munkres presented forth grade teacher Diane Moog with a check for $250.

Moog says her students have been working hard to improve their reading scores for school assessments.

The grant money will allow her to purchase specific types of books.

Moog said, "We can buy books, so that I can sit and read the same book with the students and we can look at the characteristics of the book, what makes the book special, and fit into a particular genre. That will expand their horizons in different types of books to read and will get them ready for advanced work in their reading."
