Do you have any programs such as Microsoft FrontPage? Dreamweaver?

Have a good look through your computer.

If you have a netscape browser, you could use the netscape composer to build your websites.. it's ok for beginners. You can learn along the way and figure out what is better for you, as far as web editing programs go. I use Dreamweaver, and it's really suitable for my needs. Go crazy! :thumb:

i do have dreamweaver... but im not sure how to use it into internet access.

I don't know what kind of hosting site you have... Actually I haven't used Dreamweaver for a while... however I believe you will need to input the information of your site (web address, FTP address, account, password, etc) in Dreamweaver "web" configuration so you can access and modify the pages at will. Honestly, I don't remember... You can check the help file in Dreamweaver.

Edit: I reread your first post. Oops, ok about your hosting site. You will need to check around at their site to find out what you can and cannot do. Looking for the information on FTP address & account to see if they do provide for you to input into Dreamweaver to enable you to access and modify.

If you have a Mac computer and need a FTP software, then you could purchase a Fetch for 25 dollars. http://www.fetchsoftwarework.com.

If you have an IBM PC, then follow rjr2006's suggestion.

For your Dreamweaver, it has a help instruction that will show you how to use a FTP for uploading your website to a host service. You need to enter your username and your password to access the host so that you will able to upload your website.

Before you upload your website using Dreamweaver, I believe that your front website's name should be index.html. Suppose, you have files and index.html in a folder, then you need to put a name for the folder without 'html'. Then upload the folder to the host. That's all. Hope that helps.

If your web host allows FTP, download a FTP client.

If your web host has file manager, use that to upload your files from there.

you can use smartftp client to upload your website through FTP.

Download SmartFTP: www.smartftp.com

I have a Fetch software for my Apple computer, and the Fetch is easy.

I was very surprised that it cost 400 dollars to buy the SmartFTP. I think that it is really a rip-off. Is there a cheaper than the smartftp - like 25 bucks?
