Tax clinics available for deaf, hard of hearing | thenews-messenger.com | The News-Messenger
The Ohio Benefit Bank, operated by WSOS Community Action Commission, has partnered with the Toledo Hearing and Speech Center to provide free tax clinics for deaf and hard-of-hearing families in the WSOS service area.
These clinics will help eligible low- and moderate-income Ohioans, who are deaf or hard of hearing, to not only obtain free federal and state income tax assistance, but will also help to identify other work-support benefits for which they may qualify. You do not have to live in the same county as the tax clinic.
The services will be available only to deaf and hard-of-hearing families at the area offices in:
Ottawa County -- March 11 and 30 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the WSOS office located in the Sutton Center, 1854 E. Perry St., Port Clinton.
Seneca County -- March 16-17 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the WSOS office located at 455-A East Market St., Tiffin.
Sandusky County -- April 1 and 15 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the WSOS office at 109 S. Front Street, Fremont.
When you come for your appointment, bring the following items:
Valid picture I.D.
Social Security number(s) of all family members
Copy of your 2008 tax return if possible
Copies of all W-2s, 1098s, 1099s and any other income statements
Deduction and credit information, such as tuition bills or child care expenses
Direct deposit information for savings or checking accounts
