Former Sen. John Edwards' Brother Faces Jail

RALEIGH, N.C. (Jan. 27) - Former senator John Edwards' younger brother will spend 60 days in a Colorado jail after pleading guilty to a decade-old drunken driving charge.

Wesley Blake Edwards, 40, was pulled over in a Denver suburb in late 1993 and charged with driving under the influence, careless driving and operating a vehicle without a license.

Edwards, who lost his license after three drunken driving convictions, failed to show up in an Arapahoe County, Colo., courtroom in 1994. The charges resurfaced when his brother, then a U.S. senator from North Carolina, became the Democratic vice presidential nominee in July.

At that time, Edwards, of Fuquay-Varina, pleaded not guilty to the charge of driving under the influence. On Wednesday, he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor driving while ability impaired, a lesser charge.

Edwards' jail term starts May 10. A union electrician, he will be eligible for work release. Besides the jail time, he was fined $500.

"This was a very old case," said Michael Knight, a spokesman for the Arapahoe district attorney. "I think we were just happy to get it off the books and taken care of."

Uhh, it will not ruin John Edwards' reputation or image for sure... Heck, Bush was caught for DUI few times and look at that idiot running the White House.

It is not John Edwards' problem, it is his brother's. I just don't see any way for this to ruin his image or reputation.

Gore Dynasty, nope.

Bush Dynasty - well... no.

But more than Half of people don't like Bush, anyway...
he may have cheated again.

But OH yeah the press comes out with George Bush DWI arrest 3 days before the election.But They hush,Hush up about edwards brither being arrested for DWI when democrats campaigning. And Where were they when this monica lewinsky event was going on when bill clinton was campaigning for re-election in 1996? You see the press is liberal biased and theyre never report any scandel when democrats campaigning for office untill after the election is over. In my city, Republicans and Media are attacking our Democrat leader...

They make our Mayor looks like mad man. They make the House of
Representive looks like he tried to change the law...
so that he won't pay child support to all of his 11 children... by
different women.
And they make the other democrat leader a drug lord.

So do you think the Republicans and Media are trying to make
John Edwards looks bad, because his brother had not be
book for DUI few years ago... and make it seems like
John Edwards must have change the law... to make
himself look good and keep his brother not face jail or something?

Miss*Pinocchio, you brought up a very good point. It is funny though because they (republicans-senates and others) usually are worse than democrats-senates (remember, pedophiles?).

Like what I said before, they (most of republicans-senates) are pure hypocrites.

Edit: btw, more and more people start to not believe what media said. Of course beside these non-freethinkers...
