Off to the hospital we go!

Prayers sent. I hope she'll be okay soon. Your father-in-law is right, some docs overread the x-rays, they can be stupid if they think there is nothing broken.

Extreme pain means either a fracture or a partial broken bones. It can also indicate dislocated joint of either knee or a hip. Sprained muscles do not cause extreme pain but moderate pain. I hope she'll be okay soon and the tears will remove from her eyes and replaced with a smile on her face. When you're done with the doctors for your little girl, explain to her not to do it again, tell her that jumping or roughing around on the bunk bed is not a jungle (some kids laugh at the humor like jungle or water splash), it's a place to read or sleep. ;) I have a bunkbed and I cringe at some times..now they're 12 and 10, they haven't try anymore. My son used to jump from the top to my bed. Oooh. Freaked me out and he laughed. <sigh> Wheew.

Hope your daughter will be okay!! Keep us posted about her leg. She must be in awful pain in her leg!! Poor thing!

UPDATE:

I want to cry seriousily! We brought her to the fracture clinic and the specialist couldn't find the break meanwhile we took her to the clinic and the Dr. there said that she had broken her leg (right through two bones). I never saw the Xray, my hubby did but then he couldn't tell them where it was when we went there. I am holding for a few more days if she is not better by the end of the week we are taking her in again. God some Drs are such assholes!

I totally think it's broken, she isn't using her leg at all. She is in pain little manageable today since she knows how to sit and lay down. But tonight I tried to bathe her, and she screamed the entire time while she sat in the tub with her legs straight.

Again I think my father inlaw is totally right. I just wish that hubby would have put more of a fight out to have her re Xrayed there. Oh well, like I said Friday if she isn't walking or even attempting to walk we are bringing her in.

The break the other Dr. said was so thin ~ it was like if you sharpened a pencial and drew a line that is how small it is. He could understand why the ER had missed in the first place. He saw that it was broken right through both bones.

Then the Dr was like talking to him I think? (Hubby says he was talking to the Dr at the clinic and basically covering his ass incase it was and if he dismissed it). Which I think is stupid because he wouldn't have shown hubby where the break was to begin with if he wasn't even being honest!

Anyhow, I will keep you updated...

Very tired and frustrated with Drs right now!

I can't understand why Dr can't find her leg broke by Xray, it is full of bullshit.

Exactly what I said. Full of shit up to the roof!
He even had to ASK hubby where the break was...
DUH?! If he is such a fucking good specialist he SHOULD HAVE KNOWN!

Sorry really pissed off..if I find out that he totally missed it I am going to be calling the hospital back and going to the board to complain about this man!

Don't be sorry yourself, we can understand your problem. I can see your kid is still painful. I hope your kid will be speedy recovery very very soon.

Hi Raingurl.. I just read this thread. I'm soo sorry that your daughter is suffering the pain! have you tried going to the bone dr? if you did, have a 2nd opinion and make them do the xrays again. you are entitled to do anything just to make your daughter better and to find the answer.

My daughter was about 2 years old and started complaining her right knee hurts. I took her to the doctor and they found nothing wrong.. so i asked for a 2nd opinion, they found it was growing pains.

but if your daughter can't walk or move on that leg, then something is not right. they need to do the xrays on the whole leg.. I really hope you can find the answers. I feel for ya!

That is why I do not like or trust doctors. They are in it for the money, they say Oh we don't see it then you are in pain 5 days later they say come see us, then you go in and they say we may have found something but we are not sure yet meanwhile the bills rack up then they say we just got some test results we need to talk to you then schedule another appointment and you feel all good then next time you go there then they say hey wait a mintune we need more testing.... you have gotta go huh ?

Then by that time you get the hospital bill in your mailbox it just makes me :pissed:

If he keeps this bullshit up. Take your kid to a doctor who is a woman herself and she will understand the problem perfectly and give your kid the right medical treatment and order up what is really needed to get to the bottom of the problem and save you money, time stress and no more heartache from seeing your kid in pain. That is what I would have told my wife to do if I was married. Women doctors usually are not in it for the money like the guys who are doctors.

Take them to the court and sue 'em. She suffers too many pains and she's pretty too young to have a prolong pain. :(

I'm sorry you had go through this, and ur daugher should not have suffer the pains! Its best to do something! Is ur daugther ok now?

Yeah, myself have many kids, I went through many different of their pains..

but in your case... surprised me that they didnt give your daugther some comfort like painkiller.. or splinter to hold leg..

If i am in your shoes. I WOULD take her to different hospital ER.. just explain that you are not happy with other ER/Dr.. since your daughter is still in exterme pain...

Try not to give her bath.. for while, give her sponge bath.. like.. use wash cloth.. and bowl of little soapy water.. wash her like you wash face..
that what i do, espically one of our kids had fear of going in bathroom for 2 years, I had to give "sponge bath"..

Try to level her leg up little bit to let the blood circulation and pressure flow.. might less the pain.. it might be pain for few second.. talk to her.. for few min to see if it works..

I wasnt sure, you said wait til friday if she isnt improve anything, will bring her back in? dont wait.. like i said.. 2nd opinion, go different dr/hospital er.
just say that cant tolerance pain..

Sigh.. I am sorry.. she have to go through like this.. hope they find out what is it.. and give her our love and hugs.. pray for her.

Definitely get second opinion- my kids had a fair share of breaks in their childhood and one time my daughter broke her knee and the first dr. couldn't read the xray right! You need a specialist to xray and read- you have the right to demand proper care for your daughter

That true. Better demand a specialist to xray her again. You can't have your daughter in pain for few more days. It just not right for a little girl going through so much pain.

I am so sorry your daughter deal with pain, some doctores are idiots.. Yeah we went thru this many time, so I understand your going thru right now. Have u try er? they usually found the problem and do something about it.
