Obama documentary available online for deaf and blind students | CITIZEN-TIMES.com | Asheville Citizen-Times
In honor of Black History Month, Elbow Grease Productions has made its fully-accessible–captioned and audio described–feature-length documentary, "Barack Obama: The Power of Change," available online, free of charge.
The video is available through the Web site of the Described and Captioned Media Program (DCMP), administered by the National Association of the Deaf (NAD) and funded by the U.S. Department of Education.
"Barack Obama: The Power of Change," produced by Pearl Jr. and Cecil Holmes, follows Barack Obama on the campaign trail and contains some of Obama's most inspirational speeches. In addition, it provides messages from First Lady Michelle Obama and some of the president's supporters, including Oprah Winfrey, Caroline Kennedy and Stevie Wonder. Visit Barack Obama: The Power of Change - Described and Captioned Media Program for more information and to stream this title instantly.
"As an activist media-driven company offering products and services that assist in a more equal society for all, inclusive to those with disabilities, we are thrilled that Barack Obama's message of hope, change, inspiration, and equality is now accessible to every American," said co-producer Pearl Jr.
Concurrent with President Obama's message of hope and equality, DCMP is proud to offer this fully-accessible, audio described and captioned feature length documentary program. Members need only sign into their accounts to view the streaming videos, which will also be available to the general public throughout the month of February. DCMP membership is available free of charge to teachers, administrators, families and parents of students who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind, visually impaired, or deaf-blind.
DCMP is currently offering several additional new titles, many of which focus on politics in the U.S. and abroad. Such titles include "Castro or Quit?," "Edge of Islam," "No Country for Young Girls" and "Looking for my Gypsy Roots" and others that can be found on the DCMP Web site, DCMP.org :: Home.
