clinton's pulling out of somolia was a huge mess, like the mess left on monica's dress

bingo! that was my major and harsh criticism of Clinton's poor and reckless military decision. C.C.Sinned got it right! Nowhere in my posts in other threads did I say such thing that it's a mistake to intervene in Somalia.

so kindly show me the posts that would prove me wrong. :)

Why don't you do yourself a favor and look it up yourself? I shouldn't have to do the research for you. After all, you're so fond of telling the rest of us to go back and refer to old posts, so why don't you follow your own advice?

What the heck do you think the protests are for?

to speak out against rigged election and tyranny such as censorship and violent clamp-down by Basijis and riot police.

but overthrowing the government as you claimed? Link please?

When a person makes allegation, one has to provide proof along with allegation.

Actually you did. Many, many times in fact.

same thing with our free speech. Hate crime and death threat against the President.

No it isn't. In the U.S., we have separation of church and state. The entire government of Afghanistan is founded on the Islamic religion. You might want to check their constitution.

It's not an allegation. It's fact. Facts don't need to be proven because they are what they are. :)

hear again, don't make this thread get locked. jiro's beef was about the pull out of somolia...

back on the topic of iran please

so prove me wrong. :cool2:

Have a good day and there's no sense in running around the circle with you because I do not want to get this thread :locked: . Meanwhile - prove me wrong if you can.

hence - Islamic Republic. they do have free speech but it's not the same as American's free speech. They still can speak out and protest. I don't see Afghanistan government censoring and sending Basijis on them.

Why should I do your research for you? There is no risk of this thread being closed because all I am doing is asking you to do what you tell the rest of us to. You should know yourself well enough to understand that you did oppose our involvement in Somalia and I frankly do not have the time or inclination to read through your many, many posts which indicate that.

By the way, I'm having a very good day. Thanks for caring!

here are facts, Hear Again -

What pissed me off pretty bad is Clinton's handling of Somalia War. President Bush, Sr. sent 25,000 troops to Somalia to help UN... and then when Clinton became the President - he declared it as mission accomplished so he withdrew most of US troops out.. leaving behind only about 1,200 soldiers. and then later Somalia was under control by warlord - General Aidid so Clinton sent in troop but with very MINIMAL support (no tanks or Bradley or heavy air support). because of that.... 18 soldiers died and to add insult to injury... Clinton aborted the mission and withdrew everybody. :nono:

now you wonder how Al Queda can train their soldiers for attack against USA... yep - Somalia.

Not fair to compare Clinton to Bush aka War President. I do not trust Clinton at all in the time of war. Clinton SUCKS MISERABLY at war game. Look at Somalia. He handled it very poorly. I was very pissed. The lives of USA soldiers died in vain for nothing. He did not handle Bosnia quite well either. He SUCKS as Commander-in-Chief but he was a good President.

and what you just said about Clinton and 9/11 - it's controversial at best. You believe what you want to believe. I believe 9/11 was Clinton's fault. Like I said repeatedly - Clinton slashed a huge cut in defense budget which crippled our intelligence/military capability. Because of lack of manpower, intelligence capability, and budget - al queda was able to launch terrorist attack on USA which happened to occur in Bush's time.

and don't give Clinton too much credit on great economy. He just happened to be there at right time at right place.

Do you see anywhere in my posts that I said that Clinton should not intervene in Somalia?

So yes I do know and remember what I said. Have a good day  Hear Again.

Those aren't facts Jiro. Those are your opinions. Stop trying to twist words and read between the lines when there isn't anything there.

Jiro,

I am having a good day which I believe I indicated in an earlier post, but again, thanks for caring.

There is no threat of this thread being locked. Please do not tell me what to do unless you are a mod. Thanks.

Can you not be an agitator, Hear Again? thanks. back to topic :ty:

Obama spokesman: President 'moved' by Iran protest images
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Images of Iran's crackdown on street protests have "moved" President Obama, his spokesman said Monday.

At his daily media briefing, spokesman Robert Gibbs said Obama received briefings on the Iran situation and also followed events through television coverage.

"I think he has been moved by what we've seen on television," Gibbs said, adding that the president was particularly affected by images of women braving the crackdown "to speak out and be heard."

Obama has called on Iran to stop violent and unjust steps that stifle free speech, but some Republicans have criticized him for not siding more strongly with the demonstrators.

Gibbs said Obama's public statements on the situation were intended to prevent Iranian leaders from claiming that the protests were a U.S.-backed attempt to bring down the regime.

"This isn't about a foreign policy that makes us feel good," Gibbs said. "This isn't about a statement that makes us feel good or sound good on television."

The Iranian demonstrators believe that the June 12 presidential election was a sham. Gibbs said Obama "continues to have concerns and questions ... about how that election was conducted."

Iran's leaders were "being held accountable" by the continuing street demonstrations, Gibbs said, adding that televised images of the government's bloody crackdown were harming Iran's image around the world.

There you go - the protests were done by Iranians, not influenced or funded by Americans. The protests are not to overthrow the government.
