Are you 100% sure? I don't think this statement is correct. There have been mass shooting using hunting rifles, even non assault wepon or average shot guns.

Why Timothy McVeigh didn't use any kind of gun that resulting mass murder?

There was mass murder that had happened on 9/11 in NYC, were any kind of gun used in this mass murder?

Who know, maybe they think it's cool, maybe they like the ergonomics, I didn't say they weren't popular. I have a bolt action rifle from WWII back in the day they had what was called the "Mad Minute" many rifleman could average 30 shots into a 12" target at 200 yards. That's a vastly greater distance with a more powerful cartridge. With a real rifle cartridge you're likely to see the projectile penetrate the first target and maintain lethal velocity. It also gives a different meaning to the term cover.

Also my point is that they are not assault weapons they are semi auto and many people hunt with semi auto firearms. The assault rifle is a classification used by the military to describe a select fire weapon. Assault weapon is a made up term based on mostly visual characteristics used to define firearms for the 1994 ban.

You think I am anti-government? Your getting it all wrong. I believe in balance of power. What that means is that Citizen of United States like you and me are technically government's boss, and at the same time Uncle Sam is our boss.

If Uncle Sam had not molested and abuse these constitution of the United States, then I have no problem with that type of government.

BTW, you are 100% right that the government belongs to us, the people since we pay taxes. If we don't pay taxes, we would not have a government. I know not all Congressmen/women are not always good to us. As for the U.S. Constitution, a few of them need to be modified because they are more than 200 years old, IMO.
 
Stalin banned his own people from bearing firearm and murdering them anyway. That is precisely why we got 2nd amendment.

Adolf Hilter did the same thing as Stalin, banned civilians from firearms and killing them anyway. Not many people realize this part of history.

Hitler and Stalin were authoritarian - not elected by people, but our government is elected by people.

CP is more support of European policies on gun rights - elected government and gun control regulation - that's typical European.
 
I think what we really want is a reasonable amount of safety. Although mass shootings are tragic they are really a small portion of the overall violence in America. Why do we continue to release violent offenders after short prison stays? Why do many states still not send the mental health information to the federal government already required by law for nics checks? Why do we send our children to unguarded schools? And why do the places that have the most gun violence (Chicago) have the worst record for enforcing current laws?
 
Ahhh, gatling guns are perfectly legal. As far as I know they haven't been used in any crimes so that seems a little moot. Also the people that wrote the second amendment where not stupid. They understood that technology would advance. I believe they said what they meant.

it's not related to "assault weapon". what you're referring to is its gun ban - mainly handguns.
