Wow, it looks like mental illness is very difficult to detect.

Turns out the shooter was confronted by a CCW holder (concealed carry) while his weapon was jammed. The CCW holder didn't shoot because of other people in the line of fire. The next round the shooter fired was him offing himself. There's a YouTube vid, but it's not captioned so I won't post it (easy to find if you search).
