California lacks a majority ethnic group. It is the third minority-majority state, after Hawaii and New Mexico. Non-Hispanic Whites are still the largest group while Hispanics make up over one-third of the population; in order, other groups are Asians, Blacks, and Native Americans.

Because of high levels of immigration from Latin America, especially Mexico, and higher birth rates among the Hispanic population, Hispanics are predicted to become California's largest ethnic group by 2010-2011 and a majority in the state around 2035-2040. California has the largest Asian population (numbers-wise) and second largest (percentage-wise) of any state, Hawaii having the largest percentage. Non-Hispanic White and non-Hispanic Black populations are currently contracting both in absolute and relative terms due to high levels of emigration and lowering births rates. Current trends show that by 2050 California's population will be 55-60% Hispanic, 20-25% non Hispanic white, 17% Asian, Blacks will constitute less than 5% of the population and 5% will be of mixed or Native American/ Pacific islander heritage.

I was surprised that latino will going be majority in Texas, California, New Mexico and somewhere in southwest. I know that emigration for citizen are bad in California but Texas will going be next one soon since white population are start nearly peak in Texas and already peaked in California after 1992 LA riot. I remember that California and Texas have long experience with latino in long time but nothing is new. Do you think that immigrant reform will going be successful and make restriction on immigrant, also none of illegal immigrant can move in or would deport so easier. I hope that most citizen can get job back since they are work on something to control on private workplace and government job about issues with illegal immigrants. Illegal immigrants are not supposed to get job without any more information, unable to get room for apartment, can't own house and cannot send children to school without any prove or they will going in felony then deport them in their countries.

I hope that immigrant reform will help alot...

I believe that largest amount of white people would live and going keep more stable in southeast states, northeast states, upper midwest states and probably northwest states like Seattle and Boise, also some southeast states would have good mixed with white and black people in their history. I'm not worry about issues with latino in our state but immigrant reform will going help alot, also California will have around little more than 10 million white population since latino population will be more than 30 million or so in 2050. It's projection but it can be wrong because cost of living is extremely overpriced and population can be pull into more slower to growing but who knows.

For NYC, the migration out of city for white population will peak in around after 2010's or so and going be more stable in number. NYC is one of extremely diverse in nation and nothing would going be majority.

I think it would interesting to read it.

Now, Texas is going be like California-style because demographic is almost same.

If immigrant reform isn't successful or fail then latino will going be largest number than white population in USA in before 2100.
