So I just purchased a webcamera because many of my friends have wanted to chat online through one. Some of these friends sign which obviously isn't a problem, but I have a few friends that I knew before I lost my hearing who want to "chat" through it. The problem obviously is the fact that it's difficult to understand speech due to my hearing loss and they don't sign. So my question is, is there any software that will "listen" to what is being said and do "captions" during our online webcamera conversation?
 
no. MIT's working on it :aw:
 
Speech to text software, but still not where it needs to be. And not cheap.
