Seoul (CNN) -- North Korea proclaimed itself a "nuclear state" this week following a revision of its constitution earlier this year.

Kim Jong-Il has "transferred the country into an undefeated country with strong political ideology, a nuclear power state, and invincible military power," according to the updated constitution posted on its portal website Naenara. The website posted the revised constitution on Wednesday, according to Yonhap, the South Korean state affiliated news agency.

The statement looks all too familiar.

North Korea previously announced its nuclear capability through its state-run broadcaster and newspapers, "but no expression can be stronger than including it in their constitution," Professor Choi Jong Kun of Yonsei University told CNN.

"It is an announcement of confirmation," he added, "and it appears to be directed to the U.S. and other relevant nations."

The communist state carried out nuclear tests in 2006 and 2009.

Pyongyang recently announced that it will press on with its nuclear program in response to what it calls "hostility from the United States."

A defense publication, IHS Janes, also said it detected signs of activities ramping up at North Korea's nuclear test site, raising speculation Pyongyang may be preparing for a third nuclear test.

It isn't true when come to US.

US vs. North Korea = US wins and the land of North Korea will gives back to South Korea for unification.
 
its be too late, the entire NK would be irraditated...
and probably japan and east of china too
forget war, NK leaders need shots of lasers from the satellites....its the only way...

We could as last resort but use nuclear weapon against North Korea isn't best option for first time so we don't want land of North Korea to be contaminated with radiation. After unification with South Korea is complete so Korea, US and other allies could spend money on massive renovation on North part, improving and modernize the outdated, 1940's infrastructures, try to creating more jobs, etc.

Back in 1940's, before Korea got split into two countries. North Korea was industrialized region and South Korea was mostly rural, farmland.

I think Grummer's post indeed make sense about use nuclear weapon is bad idea.

not really. South Korea and USA will easily lose the war against North Korea.

nah. nuclear weapon will never be used even if war happens again. using a nuke is a suicide mission and a complete annihilation. Seoul contains over 50% of South Korean population and same for Pyongyang. Over 60% of South Korea is not livable since it's a very mountainous country.

so nuking each other's capitals would be worse than the Black Death.

easily? why?
backings from China? but i do knw NK have some of the biggest military in the world...but it might come as ironic as you may not expect, tooo many they'd lose orders...so it might not be ' as strong as they'd like to make it out' its all about controlling and power for the Jong wankers...

South Korean military is not mentally and physically fit for it. The morale is extremely low and there's no strong sense of patriotism.

and when it comes to combat-ready, South Korean + American are terribly outnumbered.
 
hmm you'r prob right ...but for all i know they need to rid of the jongs, they are hell bent to destroy the world...they are dangerous people, and nuking isn't going to work and like i said a blast of lasers from the sat might but cavent is its hovering over China's airspace (and above) might pose high riskes...and or there' probably doesnt exist, (a la James bond fantasy here lol)
i dont have a clue whats the answer to this problem...its a sad sad world

North Korea has barely pathetic logistical resources and outdated equipment to sustain a war, not to mention big infantry numbers don't indicate a batter force posture. I think it will come down to a US vs China confrontation. Betcha didn't know a girl knew that! :P

What about NK's air power? That good? Regarding to air power, U.S. Air Forces is one of the best.

Yup, just like I said it wasn't good idea at all.

What happens if NK start to invade SK so how we could prevent NK from attacking SK? I think that Seoul is beautiful in picture and doesn't want this capital city turns into ugly due to war.

Why does NK will outnumber US + SK? I think that we have modern, better military technologies and we are ability to thwart the invasion by NK. I'm surprised about your claim and like to know about it.

Interesting about 60% of SK is not livable, what about Japan? I think Japan will be much worse because of more mountainous country. Build the place on mountain is very expensive for sure.
 
It is just a bunch of saber rattling by NK! They know that they would lose big time in a war with US or SK. But China on the other hand is scary big in it's military and so is Russia.
 
...and more so, china have access to technology, NK dont, i cant help but feel Jiro since he's a Korean some kind of wierd ego warps his judgement
