No Saturday Mail?

Hey, they have to read something while they're on the can.

isn't that what BB/netbook/iPhone for?

my previous home has small tv in bathroom cuz the previous homeowner is VP of RCA (major tv company) :laugh2:

No, that is what the patterns on the wall is for, to count or etc while on the can.

the saddest part is.... the McDonalds workers work a lot harder than USPS during peak hours... and MCD workers do not even have any pension funds or any of those perks that USPS gets
McD workers don't traditionally get pensions, nor do they have the same skill set as USPS employees. If McD had pensions, their prices would be so high that they would not be competitive.

by paying online... they waste hundreds if not thousands of dollars on electricity, broadband service, and computer
Yes, but they won't trade for bushels of wheat, so where does that leave me? :aw:

340,000 current postal carriers. Alternate days would eliminate at least 140,000

Avg Postal carrier salary $40,000

That saves $5.6 billion by itself. Not to mention cutting vehicles, wear and tear, gas and carbon emissions by having the route miles cut in half. It also doesn't take into account the savings in benefits. And the only negative....You potentially get you magazine a day later than someone accross town
The unions wouldn't allow it. And it makes too much sense to be sensible.

despite of pensions and benefits - the shipping fee and stamps at USPS are still a lot cheaper than McD food. that pretty much shows you a drastic difference between private business and government agency in terms of everything

oh yes they will. it's better than being out of job and broke.

That worked for automaker unions didn't it? And Boeing.

no it didn't. that's why factories got shut down. jobs get outsourced. and several makes like Pontiac and Saturn got disbanded. and now.... Chrysler's owned by Fiat.... a french.... how un-American.

I guess that worked, yes?

oh. and the federal bailout.

Some USPS branch offices were closed in metro cities last few month ago.

That was the point...unions didn't help the automakers survive.

right. which is why I think the USPS unions most likely will cave in..... because there's no federal bailout for them lol

can do with out mail on Wednesdays! All I get on Wed is JUNK mail! Snail spam mail!! LOL.
It would not hurt my feelings if they cut back delivering mail.

Without junk mail, first class postage would be about 2-3 times as much as it is now.

They should keep Saturday delivery. Instead they should deliver half of their routes on MWF and the other half on TTHS. Cuts labor, fuel usage, mileage on vehicles and carbon emissions in half while delaying mail by one day at the most.

Brilliant! I'm on board this idea! :thumb:

I do auto pay and have receipt emailed.......Have the bank pay the bills that don't accept autopay . Saves money paper and time. Plus you never forget one.

When I have done that - there have been times that a double payment has been removed from account and made. I also have places that will not accepts online payments at all. That includes one of our vehicle payments, a loan payment and the membership fee for my deaf club. Never had a problem with AT&T online payments, but that's the only one.
