Which is cooler?

Discuss.

That's ironic that you should bring up this topic.

The theme for an anime convention I went to a few weeks ago was "Pirates & Ninjas".

In response to your question, that's a tough one. Two of the current popular anime shows are Naruto (ninja-related) and One Piece (pirate-related).

I'd probably say ninjas, cuz they can do anything. But then again, so can pirates. ;)

Good choice. Pirates are cool, but ninjas can do anything. There needs to be more ninja movies.

We had plenty of ninja movies and magazines in the 1970's and the 1980's. I also enjoy the pirates because they get way more gold money and better women than a ninja ever would get. ;)

For the real deal in Ninja training. Stephen K. Hayes lives in Ohio and has his own training center.

For Pirate training and skills.... they do have them online from very old, old manuals preserved for history online and there is a pirate training school in Boston. I forgot where but I am sure there are more spread all over both sides of the USA coastline. You will learn how to tie a ship and use the rope for what proper knot tying etc, how to use a sword, how to fight hand to hand combat, shoot an antique handgun or a rifle from that time of the era. How to throw a knife. Many things, much like you would with Civil war battle re-enactments.

What Ninjutsu and karate really was in Japanese society was that Ninjutsu was for Japanese military soldiers to the Emperors during their fighting feuds while karate was more for everyday Japanese civilians but with the outbreak of WW2 and alittle before that then the Ninjutsu and the karate elements soon evolved especially during the WW2 Pacific war into very brutal and savage Ju-Jitsu but please remember that Ju-Jitsu was also around for about 2,000 years in Japan. The onset of WW2 really made the study of ninjutsu and karate elements delevop into very deadly Ju-jitsu and not like the watered down karate and ju-jitsu or the ninja that is commonly sold on the internet or the bookstore today.

Yea, both of them are dominant in Japan and Tokyo is very nice city and much more clean than NYC, LA and Houston, also it's most safe area.
