Nine-year-old girl becomes youngest in UK to have sign language qualification - mirror.co.uk
A girl of nine has become the youngest person in Britain to achieve a sign language qualification.
Tayla Reynolds completed the Level 1 British Sign Language tests - so she could tell her hard-ofhearing mum "I love you". The schoolgirl joined 14 adults on a 23-week course run by mum Debbie.
Tayla, from Blackburn, Lancs, said: "My favourite sign is the one for blue, where you point towards the veins on your wrist due to their colour. I think that's really clever."
Next month she starts Level 2, which will make her fluent enough to become an interpreter.
Teacher Debbie, 35, said: "It's wonderful to see her saying 'I love you' in sign language."
