Is anybody else watching this? It's live on the Discovery Channel RIGHT NOW. This man is walking across the Grand Canyon on a tightrope.

I almost can't watch. I keep averting my eyes !!

I don't think I would want to see it. The Flying Wallenda's have quite a history, and more that one has died in that line of work.

you made me to turn TV on.. oh my god..

Watching that too as well.

I can't bear to watch it live. We're recording it. If he makes it, will watch later. If not, we can click "delete."

Hubby saw Nik Wallenda in person at the Charlotte NASCAR track. He walked the wire over the track. He started at the uppermost grandstands to a crane that was erected in the infield.

Geesh. I wanted to be sick when they did arial shots. He's crazy.

Only less than 1% of world population have the balance he got 99% don't have, and yeah 99% of us thinks 1% is nuts.

I think he was smart on practicing during recent storm. He had practiced during storms which helped him handle any wind gusts.

Now that we know he isn't dead BUT is RICH already.

One of my friend`s husband was part of the set up team to get ready for this event. She posted pics of the events being set up on FB. Her husband got to be a part of history.

Glad he made it. Crazy!

Missed it...but glad he made it...with my balance problems, after 3 steps I would have fell...:giggle:...even riding a bicycle is hazardous to my health...and anybody else on the road!...wonder that I haven't been picked up for public drunkness yet!...:giggle:

Yep, watched the whole thing plus 2 hour of film about that family, the highlight of which was bringing closure to Nik and his Mother re: the death of Nik's grandfather or great grandfather by walking the wire at the same place where the ancestor fell to his death in Puerto Rico in 1978.

I'm very happy that he made it. Whew!

It also blessed my heart to hear him praise God the whole time. :)
