Was wondering if other deaf people get a bad interpeter? They dont use emotions or expressions that it makes it harder to understand them? I can have a normal conversation with all deaf or people born of deaf parents.
I went to SS court and my interpeter was cold and sign very small, made it hard to understand what she was saying and the judge got mad at me and said im not deaf!!! I was born deaf. Why hearing people seem to think ASL interepter know more than deaf??? I dont get it? I know he turn down my case he was screaming at me and he threat to overurn my husbands SSDI and my husband is dying.
I wrote a complaint on the interpeter and will mail it and I hope they investigate her. How she get certified without showing emotions and expressions???
Thanks for reading... respond if you like.

:welcome: to AllDeaf forum. Wow, ouch, that does hurt very badly. You are not the only one. We have an ADer who goes through the same problem like yours. I hope she comes around here to explain and help you solve your bad interpreter issues. Yes, it is best that you report to the interpreters service and also VRS (Vocational Rehabilitation Service) if you are in USA. I also can not believe that she is certified if she does not do the job well at all. I wonder where she get the certification from?

Just have fun reading and posting all the threads here. See you around here.
