New Sea Lion At County Zoo Sure To Be Favorite - Entertainment News Story - WISN Milwaukee
A California sea lion new to the Milwaukee County Zoo is bound to be a star.
One of the main reasons is that his name is already Harley. Second, he is quite the ham in and out of the water. And third, he's a survivor. He was found stranded in California seven years ago, and it was discovered he's deaf.
"We talk to our animals a lot so we have to take a different direction. Bonnie communicates with her hand signals very similar to how you would communicate with a child or adult who is also deaf," said Shelley Ballman of Oceans of Fun.
Harley will likely join the zoo's sea lion show around Memorial Day.
