New Home for Bingo Games Run For Deaf People - 888ladies

The Leigh and Distinct Deaf Society has moved to new premises and will host regular bingo events

Bingo is being used to unite deaf people and those who can hear in Lancashire.

The Leigh and District Deaf Society has moved to new premises boasting bingo, pool and table tennis facilities, thisislancashire.co.uk reported.

Meetings are held fortnightly and people without hearing impairments have been made welcome, with many using the opportunity to learn sign language.

As well as moving to its new home at the Leigh Sports Village, the voluntary organisation is also planning to arrange a number of day trips.

Bingo is just one of the pastimes used to help the body provide people with advice on everyday problems faced by deaf people.

Issues such as visiting doctors, making hospital appointments and booking interpreters are discussed, while the bingo games and pool tables allow members to socialise.

The new premises will allow the body, which used to meet just four times a year, to hold more regular meetings, giving members more chances to benefit from the advice on offer.
