CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa: A new company is getting ready to open its doors in Cedar Rapids, and immediately create 110 jobs, and perhaps 70 more in the future.

URRelay (You're Relay) provides Internet-based communication for the deaf and hearing-impaired. It expects to open in a vacant downtown building in April.

The company was founded by Ben Dudley and Bill McClelland. They say employees will receive typed Internet communication from deaf and hearing-impaired persons from all over the nation. Workers would then become that person's voice to help them communicate over the phone with businesses, doctors and others.

The company has asked the city for financial incentives to help pay the 650-thousand dollar cost to renovate the office space.
