I just drank 1 gallon of water for this day - man, my stomach is ready to explode :scatter:

Got a question for ya, Cass, maybe you havent dropped a lb lately but what about dress sizes? Maybe you are gaining muscles so you are not losing pounds but rather inches. :dunno:

sounds good but don't get me wrong I hate Spinach~ haha but I'm going to try it out... thank you for taking your time to write this :scatter:

Welcome.. It's very good that you create a thread here to help members to learn what should we eat and drink...

You don't have to try to eat Spinach if you hate it. You can eat any other protein foods than just Spinach. I only tell you that Spinach is my LOVER!!!! :D

BINGO!

Diet sodas are not good - in fact, they have sodium.

Better drink plain water - I drink them mixed with Crystal Light. Try to go without diet sodas for a week and see if you lose a pound or two. If I drink a gallon of water a day, I lose weight faster.

Yes, very true!!! That's what I provided the link of my thread about sodium.

You can squeeze slice of lemon to water. It helps to burn fat in your body and also calories as well.

Well, the body needs 70 percent water and the blood even more so: 94 percent water -- and we should provide it with a lot of this basic component. That includes foods that are actually high in water. That means -- vegetables ! :)

It's important to have a plenty of water in your body to help losin' weight and also, to avoid dehydrate. It varies on woman's body to lose weight ... dependin' on what she eats/drinks. Some are goin' fast, some are goin' slow.

There's your problem, dear. Diet pop is NOT intended on helping you to lose weight or anything else. In fact, it has the opposite effect, which makes you eat more, not to mention feel bloated. Knock off the diet pop and you'll be fine.

Regarding spinich, try it as a salad instead of lettuce . . . you'll never know the difference.

By the way, you may want to change to a vegetarian diet, as I have. If you can't do that, switch your milk intake to skim milk by cows that weren't treated with that hormone. Works for me! :thumb:

Uggh!! Well I'm going to start drinking a gallon of plain water tomorrow since I like my water nice and cold before I drink the whole gallon... Do you drink it all at once??
I'll get some lemon also, if it helps burn fat and calories!! *smile*

No, you drink the water throughout the day, not at one sitting. You'd barf if you did that. Also, if tap water stinks or tastes bad, buy the water at a store. You'll want bottled water, as you will be able to either taste or smell tap water after awhile. Seriously.

In the "ideal world," we'd all like to drink cold water, but it's not always feasible or convenient.

Your doctor being as light as she is, she must have the frame to match. I'm almost 5'7" and would like to get down to 140 or less; I should be around 143 now. No, I didn't tell you that to say, "eat your heart out," so don't take it that way, okay? Also, don't hard on yourself if you can't lose the weight. When I started fitness training a year ago February until May (when school was out), I lost nine #'s, so it can be done. For my frame, I had to drop a few and I know my body quite well in what I can and cannot eat.

Cassbugs, can I give you a bit of advice? Don't watch any of those weight loss programs on television that show "the perfect body" because it'll only discourage you. You can do it and you can only do it for yourself and look good for yourself, not anyone else. You can do it, I know you can! :thumb:

If you join a fitness club, I recommend the YMCA or YWCA and get a personal trainer that will put you through some tests the first couple of times, to see where you're at physically. Trust me when I say this that none of them are standing around and pointing and gesturing at peoples' physique or lack of one. Don't be surprised if one of them tells you they've been overweight themselves. My favorite time was actually after the workout . . . go to the locker room and sit in the jacuzzi, nude, enjoying the warm water and the massage it gives. :thumb:

Congrats on losing that 1st 20 pounds -- you're half-way there!

Cardio/aerobic exercise is the only kind that will burn fat. In order to lose weight, you need to consider 3 things: F-I-T:

Frequency - 4 to 6 days a week
Intensity - If you know how to take your heart rate, it should be between 50-80% of your maximum. If taking your heart rate is too much trouble, just do the talk test: you should be breathing harder than normal, but should still be able to carry on a conversation (voiced, not signed) without gasping for air.
Time - 5 minute gradual warm-up, 20-60 minutes at workout pace, 5 minute gradual cool-down.

You mentioned lifting weights; that should be a regular part of your workout (2-3 times a week). It builds muscle which makes your body burn more calories all day long. Keep the weight low and increase the number of repetitions as you improve. A 2-inch cube of muscle tissue weighs more than the same size cube of fat, so it's possible to be losing body fat and dropping dress sizes but not see any weight loss on the scale. It helps to take your measurements once or twice a month. That way you can still see progress even if your weight stays the same.

If you're not losing 1-2 pounds every week (assuming that your eating habits stay the same), then increase one or more of the things mentioned above: add an extra workout during the week, push yourself a little harder, or add an extra 10-15 minutes to each workout.

It's the women's version of the ymca. You can belong to both.
