okay im deaf in my left ear and im pretty sure im going deaf in my right but i went to an ear specialist about a year ago and they didnt tell me anything. I kinda didnt give them enough info because at the time i didnt realize that my right ear was gettin bad. ill probably go back but im gonna ask yous first. okay ive been playing video games really loud lately and i think thats just the problem but the tinnitus in my ear is actin all strange. well first off i never had before in my right and now i do, but sometimes it goes from the usual ring to some weird deep ring and then goes back to normal. im sure if youve experienced it you know what im talking about. just wonderin if you guys got any comments cause i have my little anxiety issues and dont like my parents and theyre the only ones who can get me to the ear specialist and theyll be up my ass the whole time. i basicly just wanna know if im fucked or not -- ive hit my head before & also my parents are fuckin dumb and ignored my hearing problems for years even before the specialist. if you need to know any other symptoms just ask but please help me out

First of all - Any exposure to loud noises will hinder your ability to hear to a certain extent depending on the noises. That's the general rule of life.

Second - I would suggest you to go and see the specialist. Who knows if it is an underlying issue. If there are none, and your hearing is damaged, you're basically, as my friend Mr. Potts told a guy at a bar about his hearing, fucked.

Side note: It happens that the dude who Mr Potts said that to went to a specialist and found that he just need some drainage. He can hear now. He was in tears when Mr Potts said that to him.

But personally, being Deaf isn't all that bad.

I'm deaf in my left ear too and kinda the same it's happening to me with my right ear. I know how you feel about your parents, got the same problem with my mom.

If you need to talk, I'll be glad to help & WELCOME :)

:welcome: to AllDeaf forum. I am sorry that you had to go through with your hearing loss caused from all the noises and another disease like Bott mention. Just browse and post all the threads here. See you around here.

Hi Jake :) Sounds like we’re somewhat in the same boat – though I’m deaf in my right ear, met idiot-docs which don’t tell anything and I’m not playing games that loud. I don’t know what it might be, but one thing I do know is that you should never give up. I’ve basically done that – don’t like the idea of seeing new ear docs here in Sweden since the ones round me well there’s no words for it.
One thing I don’t understand is why do you play games that loud? And the tinnitus, well it sucks. I’ve had it all my life, but now I only have it in my left ear (the right one seems to have died or something). I do understand how you must feel, but are you sure your parents is the only ones?

By the way, welcome to AD :)

I am with PFH..loud noises would just aggravate the problem.
