Can at least 5 people help me with an American Sign Language project for college. I need just a few things answered. Need your name, age, gender, where you are from, race, whether you are a native or non-native speaker, and what kind of schooling you had whether it was mainstreamed or a deaf school. And then I need for these 6 words to be described as to how you would sign them... Picnic, School, Birthday, Grey, French, and Chinese. Please help me... I have to have this done by monday. Thank you

this help?

Hey.
I'm Ashley. I'm eighteen, attending Penn College in Williamsport PA.
I'm...white...American, you know. Native speaker of English, but not well. I was mainstreamed and had the assistance of an interpreter through school.
As for your words...
Picnic- Hands open, palms facing you, one on top of the other like ^, bring that toward your mouth twice.
School- Hands open, like you're clapping, twice.
Birthday- Birth- left hand across belly, right hand meets it like you're holding a baby. Day- left hand under right elbow, right hand is d vertical, bring down to meet other elbow.
Gray- open your hands, fingers spread open, palms facing you, pass fingers of each hand through the other a few times
French- F hand held up, swings down and up past your face
Chinese- G hand draws line across your chest.

Hope that helps! :)
Ashley

Online dictionary

I don't know how fast your connection is, but there's an ASL dictionary online at www.aslpro.com

true but

The teacher actually wants people interviewed on how they themselves would say each of the words though, so I need people who are hard of hearing to actually tell me these things, but thank you for the suggestion.

I am a NJ native transplanted to Utah. I have also lived in Germany. I'm 30 and a white male from New Joisey. I grew up learning Signed Exact English, then that changed over to ASL the older I was. I was mainstreamed from Grade 5 onwards to college.

Picnic:
1) almost like "eager," flat-palm hands facing each other, touching each other as they go in reverse directions, then back and forth
2) spell "P" and "N" on mouth
3) sign "sandwich" on mouth

School:
1) clap hands

Birthday:
1) middle finger touching the chin then moving down to the chest
2) like clipping a pin on the left side of chest, repeat about 2x
3) pulling the right ear

Grey:
1) similar to "matter"
2) "x" on chin, as if signing "metal"

French:
1) "F" flipping over facing towards you
LSF versions:
2) "F" moving from left to right, meaning the country
3) almost like "white" but on left side of chest, meaning the language spoken

Chinese:
1) Old sign: pointing on corner of right eye
2) New sign: using the index finger, starting at left chest, moving right to right side of chest, then moving down
